About ‘Food Hub’ Lab

The Berlin FoodSHIFT Accelerator Lab will establish an Urban Food Hub prototype (LebensMittelPunkt) in the Baumhaus as a lighthouse project for the food system transition in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.  

With the Food Hub, we are developing a concept for providing space for multiple functions, including direct trade of regional food, sharing, preparation, consumption, and co-learning/experimentation. Simultaneously, the Food Hub aims at enabling inclusive community building and empowerment.

Based on this prototype, we seek to establish further Food Hubs in all districts of Berlin at a later stage of the project.
